MEA staff take to the field to talk to farmers on the land or in their local regions.
Recent comings and goings saw Sonja in Western Australia at a DAFWA-organised field day where they’d been trialing some MEA soil moisture measurement gear in potatoes. Growers of various other crops turned up to swell the ranks and to listen to Sonja. We’ll be back there for the second field day on the 28th May 2015.
Andrew went off to Horsham in Victoria - then back to the Waite in Adelaide - to talk to folk about frost in grain crops (see story in this Logbook)
Sonja is once again flying north in April to talk to strawberry growers in Bundaberg Queensland.
Jack and Andrew went off in March to test the very latest Plexus 6m mast in almonds and citrus near Nangiloc in the western Victorian irrigation district along the Lower Murray.
Justin and Sonja headed off to the same area - Mildura - a month later to run a Plexus training course.
Where will we be next?
Keep an eye open for us at WineTech in Adelaide between the 14th and 16th July.
Then there’s always the Riverland Field Days (South Australia) in September – I estimate that this will be our 15th year in attendance.
And don’t forget the National Olive Industry Conference in Mildura in September.
Further event news will posted to the MEA web site as it comes to hand.
